Emergency services in the Murmansk region advise residents on safety measures during forecasted cold weather.

According to the FGBU «Murmansk Hydrometeorological Service» (Murmansk UGMS), cold weather is forecast for parts of the Murmansk region tomorrow, 29 January. Frost is expected.

The Murmansk branch of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MChS) recommends:

  • During bad weather, refrain from going into nature and, if possible, limit time spent outdoors.

  • When going outside, dress warmly, preferring layered clothing.

  • Do not overload electrical grids and do not use faulty electrical appliances.

  • When at home, observe safety techniques when using gas equipment.

  • Observe fire safety rules in daily life when using stove heating, and if a fire is detected, call 101 or 112.

  • Tourists should inform the MChS operational duty shift about their route by phone +7 (8152) 47-69-60.

  • In case of incidents and emergencies, call 112.
