Powerful cyclone that dumped snow on Moscow moves towards Novosibirsk

A powerful cyclone that brought heavy snow to Moscow is heading for Novosibirsk, but forecasters say it will weaken significantly by the time it arrives.

The cyclone that dumped snow on Moscow will reach Novosibirsk but will weaken significantly. On the night of January 26 to 27, up to 9 millimeters of precipitation fell in the capital.

«This cyclone is gradually filling, it won»t come to us with such energy. We expect precipitation, but only small amounts in the northern part of the region. The main precipitation will fall in Central Russia,« explained Natalya Kichanova, head of the weather forecast department of the West Siberian Hydrometeorological Service (Zapadno-Sibirskoye UGMS). »In Novosibirsk Oblast, 1-2 millimeters of precipitation will fall.«

In Novosibirsk, there will be light snow mainly on January 28 and 29. From January 30, it will be mostly without precipitation.
