Novosibirsk to warm up to -10°C — when to expect the rise
Snowfalls are expected to accompany the warmer weather in the city.
In Novosibirsk, a temperature rise is forecast by Thursday. Sergey Kutsenko, head of the Department for Emergency Situations and Interaction with Administrative Bodies, announced this at an operational meeting in the mayor«s office on 27 January.
In the first half of the week, cold weather will persist, with temperatures dropping to -22°C (-8°F). From Thursday, daytime temperatures are expected to rise to -10°C (14°F), and nighttime temperatures to -12°C (10°F). Snowfalls are possible.
The city continues to face increased risks due to fires. The number of residential fires has increased this year.
In the Novosibirsk region, possible temperature swings are expected in the coming days. Overnight, the thermometer will drop to -36°C (-33°F) in some areas.
