Besides frozen cars, for thawing which special services charged 4,000 rubles (about $40 at current rates), the abnormal frosts brought Novosibirsk residents atmospheric city landscapes and unusual adventures.
In a short video, footage from our readers« walks was compiled, along with a heart-wrenching story of rescuing a roe deer that was nearly frozen to death. The animal was saved from certain demise by a fisherman who, incidentally, went to catch fish on the Oyas River in -40 degrees Celsius (-40°F).
