Krasnoyarsk's January frost to ease by week's end

In Krasnoyarsk, the persistent January frost will recede next week and a gradual warming will begin, forecasts the NGS24 weather service. By the end of the week, the marks on the thermometer will almost approach zero.

26 January (Monday)

Cloudy weather with clearings is expected. The temperature will be -24°C (-11°F) during the day to -30°C (-22°F) at night. Light snow is possible.

27 January (Tuesday)

The weather will remain cloudy with small clearings. During the day, the temperature will rise to the same -24°C (-11°F), at night—it will drop to -27°C (-17°F). Snow is possible throughout the day.

28 January (Wednesday)

The weather will be the same: during the day—-21°C (-6°F), at night—-26°C (-15°F). Overcast, with snow promised again.

29 January (Thursday)

It will start to warm up. The daytime temperature will reach -18°C (0°F), at night—-11°C (12°F). No precipitation is expected.

30 January (Friday)

The week will end with a warm-for-January day: in daylight and at night—-7°C (19°F). Overcast and snow will fall all day.

By the weekend, according to preliminary forecasts, the temperature will rise to -1.. -2°C (30..28°F).

Earlier, forecaster Dmitry Ulyanov told NGS24.RU that the Arctic anticyclone, which caused the Epiphany frosts, will leave around the middle of next week. However, the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MChS) asks people not to let their guard down: frosts down to -45°C (-49°F) are still possible in the vicinity of Krasnoyarsk.
