In early February, Kuban will experience a sharp deterioration in weather after a short warming at the end of January.

According to forecasters, in the coming days the weather will be more spring-like: on Friday and the weekend, air temperatures could rise to +9–+14 °C (48–57 °F). However, this warming will be short-lived.

Already on February 2, a wave of Arctic air will approach the shores of the Black Sea. Snow will fall in the region, and temperatures will begin to drop sharply. On the turn of February 4–5, at night in some areas of Kuban, frosts down to -10–-15 °C (14–5 °F) are possible. Frosts down to -5 °C (23 °F) are expected even on the Black Sea coast.

Yandex Weather reports that in Krasnodar itself, at the end of January, temperatures up to +14 °C (57 °F) are expected, followed by a sharp cold snap, with the minimum temperature on February 3 down to -3 °C (27 °F).

At the same time, the severe cold will arrive on ground covered with snow, so plants will likely survive this cold wave without serious consequences. However, residents of the region should prepare for difficult road conditions.

Earlier, forecasters reported that from January 27 to 30, a noticeable warming is expected in Krasnodar Krai. The region will be in the warm sector of a southern cyclone, causing daytime temperatures to rise up to +15 °C (59 °F).
