Due to deteriorating weather conditions, road services have put on high alert the units servicing the highway to the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug. As reported by the Federal State Institution «Ural Road Administration» (Uralupravdor), 250 units of special equipment will be deployed to clear roads of snow. Specialists urge drivers to exercise caution and, if possible, refrain from long trips.
In case of an emergency on the highway — such as a car breakdown, skid, or road traffic accident — it is necessary to call the 24-hour dispatch service number of Uralupravdor: 8-800-200-63-06.
According to the Ob-Irtysh Department for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring (Ob-Irtysh UGMS), in the coming days, snowfalls will cover a significant part of Tyumen Oblast. The most difficult conditions are expected in the northeast, where precipitation will be particularly heavy, and the temperature may drop to -31 degrees Celsius (-24°F). In Tyumen, according to forecaster Ilya Vinshtein«s forecast, no frost is anticipated: from January 29 to 31, the city is expected to see the peak of the thaw, although snow will continue. A brief cold snap is possible in early February, but it will not reach the intensity of the Epiphany frosts.
