Frosty Weekend: What to Expect from the Weather

Frost and a lack of sun—this is the forecast from meteorologists for the upcoming weekend. According to the Ob-Irtysh Department of Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring (Ob-Irtysh UGMS), the mercury will drop to -41°C (-42°F) in the north of the region over the next two days.
On Saturday, January 24, the daytime temperature will hold at -25…-30°C (-13…-22°F), with nighttime lows down to -41°C (-42°F). Light snow is expected throughout Saturday, leading to snowpack on the roads. On Sunday, January 25, it will become a few degrees warmer. Daytime highs: from -23 to -28°C (-9…-18°F), and down to -40°C (-40°F) at night.
The forecasters at Yandex.Weather promise a sunny but frosty day in Omsk tomorrow. The thermometer will drop to -26°C (-15°F) during the day and to -29°C (-20°F) at night. On Sunday it will be overcast, with temperatures staying around -25…-29°C (-13…-20°F).
