Frosts Down to -30°C (-22°F) to Strike Urals Again

Forecasters indicate that warm weather spells in the region are expected to be brief amid incoming cold fronts.

In the coming days, frosts reaching -30 degrees Celsius (-22°F) are expected in the north of Sverdlovsk Region. According to Ural meteorologists, such abnormal cold will only affect the northern territories of the region.
In Yekaterinburg, the weather will be significantly milder, although precipitation in the form of snow will pass through the entire region. «Precipitation will occur in most districts of the region,» noted Alexey Pulin, author of the Telegram channel «Weather in Yekaterinburg.» «In the south, on the warm side of the front, snow will temporarily cease, resuming only closer to the evening of January 30, when a wave cyclone approaches the region from the west.»
Weather forecast for Yekaterinburg for the coming days:
- January 30: light snow, temperature from -1 to -3 degrees Celsius (30 to 27°F).
- January 31: snow, at night -6 degrees Celsius (21°F), during the day around -5 degrees Celsius (23°F).
- February 1: snow, at night cooling to -16 degrees Celsius (3°F), during the day -14 degrees Celsius (7°F).
The day before, Yekaterinburg was covered in snow, which led to difficult road conditions.
