In the coming days, the Kola Peninsula will be under the influence of a high atmospheric pressure system. This was reported by the Murmansk Department for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring.

Today, January 29, in the Murmansk Region, there will be patchy snow, fog, and rime. Cloudy weather with clearings is expected. A weak westerly wind. Air temperature will be -16…-21 °C (3…-6 °F), dropping to -25…-30 °C (-13…-22 °F) during clearings. Icy conditions are expected.

No significant precipitation is expected on January 30–31. Tomorrow, the prevailing temperature will be -16…-22 °C (3…-8 °F), dropping to -25…-32 °C (-13…-26 °F) during clearings. On the 31st, nighttime temperatures will be -22…-27 °C (-8…-17 °F), with some areas seeing -30…-35 °C (-22…-31 °F).

The Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) has reminded northern residents what to do during a period of severe frost.
