Forecasters warn Voronezh drivers of hazardous conditions on M-4 highway

Forecasters are warning that on January 27, heavy snowfalls will begin in Central Russia. Consequently, drivers planning to travel towards Moscow on the M-4 Don Highway should be prepared to face the elements as early as in Tula Oblast. Bad weather will also unfold in Kaluga Oblast and directly in Moscow Oblast.
Along the way, you can expect snowfall, in some places heavy, poor visibility, slush, and skidding. It is recommended to reduce speed, increase distance, and avoid sudden maneuvers. Ideally, it«s better to avoid long trips altogether.
Surprises also await drivers who decide to head south on the M-4 Don Highway. In Rostov Oblast and Krasnodar Krai, wet snow or icy rain has been falling for days. Just this morning, in the Goryachy Klyuch area, dozens of cars collided on the highway due to black ice. The situation remains tense.
Meanwhile, in Voronezh itself, spring is practically arriving—forecasters promise a sharp warming of up to 24 degrees Celsius (75°F). Residents are already afraid to imagine what will happen on the sidewalks that have accumulated a thick layer of ice.
