February in Primorye is typically warmer than January — on average by 3–6 °C (37–43 °F). According to the preliminary forecast by meteorologists from the Primorye Hydrometeorological Service (Primhydromet), February 2026 is expected to be warmer than normal.

The average monthly temperature will be -5…-10 °C (23…14 °F), in central areas -11…-16 °C (12…3 °F), which is 1–2 °C (34–36 °F) above long-term average values. In southern areas, the temperature will be close to normal. Precipitation for the month is forecast to be less than the long-term average, in the north of the region — around normal and in some places above it.

In some years, February is colder than January. For example, in Vladivostok, this happened in 1964, 1978, and 1988. In Ussuriysk, it was particularly cold in 1920, when the average temperature dropped to -23.6°C (-10.5°F), which is 6.1 degrees lower than in January. In the coldest winters in the center of the region, temperatures could drop to -38…-43°C (-36…-45°F), in the mountains — to -50°C (-58°F), and on the coast — to -25…-30°C (-13…-22°F).

In the 1990s, February was often unusually warm. The warmest February on record in Vladivostok was in 2002, when the average temperature was -4.6°C (23.7°F), which is 5.6 degrees above normal.

Sometimes in February there are thaws. In the center of the region, they usually last 3 days. In Vladivostok and on the coast, temperatures can rise to +6°C (43°F). The highest temperatures this month reach +6…+12°C (43…54°F), and in the south of Primorye — up to +13…+16°C (55…61°F).

February is one of the driest months of the year. Less precipitation falls than in January. In some places, for example, in the Prikhankai Lowland, the amount is only 5–10 mm, and in other areas of Primorye — 12–20 mm. In February, there can be snowstorms (1–2 times in the center of the region and 3–5 on the coast) and hoarfrost (2–4 times). Sometimes very strong wind blows (more than 15 m/s), especially on the coast, where it can last 3–6 days, and sometimes up to 8–14 days.
