Forecaster predicts warmer weekend weather in Bashkiria and Ufa
Temperatures in Bashkiria are expected to plunge to -35°C (-31°F) during the weekend, a forecaster says.
A warming trend is expected in Bashkiria, according to forecaster Alexander Ilyin from the «Meteo» center, but, as he noted, the temperature increase will have to wait a few days, primarily over the upcoming weekend.
According to the forecast from Bashhydromet (the Bashkir Hydrometeorological Service), on the night of Saturday, January 24, residents of the republic can expect -24°C (-11°F) and even -29°C (-20°F), and during clear spells, as low as -30°C to -35°C (-22°F to -31°F). During the day, the temperature will rise to a range of -15°C to -20°C (5°F to -4°F), with light snow possible in some areas. As noted by Alexander Ilyin from «Meteo», the coldest conditions will be in the southwestern districts of Bashkiria.
«Across the republic, it will generally be between -18°C and -23°C (0°F to -9°F), in Ufa -22°C (-8°F), in the eastern and southeastern districts around -18°C (0°F), and in the central, western, and northern districts between -20°C and -23°C (-4°F to -9°F),» Ilyin explained.
On Sunday, January 25, no significant changes in temperature are expected. According to Alexander Ilyin, the night will also be frosty, around -30°C (-22°F), and during the daytime, from -18°C to -23°C (0°F to -9°F). However, there will be no precipitation, and the wind will be weak — about two meters per second.
