Fall, Wake Up, Plaster Cast: Tyumen Trauma Center Swamped by Icy Streets

Have you ever visited the trauma center?
Tyumen residents are complaining en masse about the ice. The editorial office received several reports at once about falls and queues in the trauma department. We visited the reception department and found out what is happening there after the snowfall and frost.

There are many people with injuries, but it has been worse here.
In Tyumen, the trauma department is located at Regional Clinical Hospital No. 2 on Melnikayte Street. People on crutches can be seen already on the approach to the reception department. Overall, this is a familiar sight here, especially in winter. During icy conditions, the number of victims traditionally increases.
There are two reception departments: one for everyone who comes on their own or is brought by an ambulance, and the second is the trauma department, where people go directly with injuries. They are connected by a corridor.
At the entrance, patients are greeted by staff members who guide them on where to go and help them take the correct ticket from the terminal. We arrived in the morning, but there were already quite a few visitors in the corridors. However, there was no long queue at the registration desk. It gives the impression that the consultations by staff at the entrance really help manage the flow of patients.
The story is roughly the same in the trauma department. There is a queue here, but it is quite bearable. Especially considering that this is the only «reception point» in the city. Most people are waiting for an appointment in the radiologist«s office. The injuries vary: some bumped themselves, some got a very deep cut, and some fell.
One woman recounts that the evening before, she slipped and fell near her home. At first, her leg hurt, but it was tolerable. In the morning, her knee was severely swollen. As a result, the woman decided to go to the trauma department. Several other elderly women are sitting in the queue with similar problems. One fell and injured her arm on the street, another at home. Mostly, the injuries were sustained earlier, and today they came due to worsening conditions.
Doctors, however, advise not to delay and to seek help immediately for injuries. By the way, in some cases, you can sue for compensation for falls on slippery sidewalks or porches. How to do this was discussed with experts.
Such ice has formed, in particular, due to the cold weather. Previously, we reported that the frost is not planning to retreat yet. How long the harsh winter will continue, read here.
