Expert Forecasts Very Cold February for Yekaterinburg

A meteorology expert has issued a forecast predicting unusually cold weather for the first weeks of February in Yekaterinburg.

Residents of Yekaterinburg had barely recovered from severe January frosts when an expert already predicted a new bout of cold weather.

A cold spell is predicted for Yekaterinburg from February 2 to 9, with temperatures well below normal.

As written by Alexey Pulin, author of the Telegram channel «Weather in Yekaterinburg», the first weeks of February in Yekaterinburg will be colder than usual.

From February 9 to 16, conditions will be slightly warmer but still below the climatic norm.

‘The first half of February in Sverdlovsk Oblast is expected to be cold. The figures show the expected distribution of deviations from the climatic norm of average air temperature for the first and second weeks of the month according to the ECMWF (European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts) model. Yekaterinburg is marked with a green circle,’ the expert wrote.
