Rescuers in Sverdlovsk Oblast have issued an emergency warning about bad weather. On January 29, intense snowfall is forecast for the region.
MChS specialists have appealed to drivers to strictly follow traffic rules and exercise increased caution when maneuvering.
«If a snowstorm catches you on the road: move to the far right lane, turn on your hazard lights, and wait out the bad weather, avoiding sudden braking,» the regional MChS department reported.
Pedestrians are advised to keep a safe distance from dilapidated structures and buildings with unreliable roofs, and to beware of downed power lines and glass shards.
Meteorologists had previously informed residents of the Urals about the upcoming precipitation. Earlier, it was forecast that a new cold wave is expected in the region at the beginning of February.
