Central Russia Forecast for Anomalously Cold February

In Yaroslavl Oblast, anomalously low temperatures are expected from January 30 to February 3. At night, thermometers may drop to -20…-26°C (-4…-15°F), which is 7–12 degrees below the long-term average.
Residents of Russia«s Central region should not expect warm weather in February either.
Specialists from the Fobos center reported: «The beginning of February will continue the frosty period. Until the end of the first ten-day period, temperature readings will remain 4–6 degrees below normal. The second ten-day period of February is also expected to be colder than the climatic norm. And only closer to the end of the calendar winter is there hope for temperatures to return to the normal range and even exceed it.»
