Amateur photographer shares frosty snowy shots from a Volgograd hamlet

The series immerses viewers in a winter fairy tale landscape.
Amateur photographer Irina Golokolenova has showcased the beauty of the snowy Levykino settlement in the Uryupinsky District of Volgograd Oblast. The open-air ethnographic museum in the hamlet of Petrovsky, which attracts dozens of tourists in the summer, is no less beautiful in winter. See how beautiful, sunny, and frosty it is there! It makes you want to grab a thermos of hot tea and walk along the snow-covered paths, enjoying the fresh air, silence, and incredible views.

“Levykino settlement is called an open-air museum. It includes a complex of exhibition pieces. For example, a round Cossack house with a yard, a complex with a stockade, dugouts, a hut, and a chapel on the bank of the Kamenka River, reflecting the way of life of the Khopyor Cossacks. I went out for a walk when the frost and sun were truly like in a poem by Pushkin,” admits the author of the photos.

We share with you this January selection. We invite you to admire and catch the mood to go for a walk to take such gorgeous shots for your memories.

Earlier, mobile photographer Yulia Voropayeva wasn«t afraid to go out to Izobilnaya Street in the Krasnoarmeysky District in a straight –20°C (–4°F) to take mesmerizing shots. The photo shows an enchanting kingdom of real Russian winter, which holds the still-sleeping nature in its shackles. Snowflakes stuck to the plants remind us: the frost isn»t planning to give up. Look and admire what city dwellers usually miss, rushing to get into a warm building.
