-36°C Frosts May Shut Schools in Kurgan Oblast

With frosts expected to reach -36°C (-33°F) in Kurgan Oblast, authorities are prepared to cancel school sessions according to temperature thresholds.

In Kurgan Oblast, it will get much colder in the coming days. According to the forecast from the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia (Hydrometcenter), frosts will start strengthening from Wednesday, January 21, and will intensify until the end of the week. The coldest periods, according to meteorologists, will be overnight from Thursday to Friday and from Friday to Saturday — thermometers will show down to -36°C (-33°F). It will become slightly warmer only by the beginning of next week.
