Volgograd Launches Bus Route from Rodnikovaya Dolina to Railway Station
Buses were specially polished to a shine before the first trip
In Volgograd, a bus route has been launched that connects the Rodnikovaya Dolina neighborhood with the city center. The first day of operation was January 29, and high-capacity buses are working on the line.
The main part of the bus route will run along Pervaya Prodolnaya
«The 14-kilometer route runs along Khimiya Street, Stepanishcheva Street, the new road on Rodnikovaya Street, Universitetsky Prospekt, Krasnopresnenskaya Street, Elektrolesovskaya Street, Raboche-Krestyanskaya Street, V.I. Lenin Prospekt, Port-Saida Street, and Kommunisticheskaya Street,» the Volgograd administration said.
From the stop «Khimiya Street» in the Sovetsky District, large-class vehicles follow through stops: «Issa Plieva Street», «Tyuleneva Street», «Educational Center »Dolina«», «Stepanishcheva Street», «Arenskogo Street», «Oil and Gas College», «Hospital No. 11», «35th Guards Street», «Krasnaya Zarya Plant», «Nizhnyaya Yelshanka», «Kazakhskaya Street», «Tsaritsa Factory», «Monument to the Severnomorians», «Youth Theater», «Architectural and Construction University», «Cossack Theater» («Yuzhnaya Hotel»), «Voroshilovsky Shopping Center», «Chekistov Square», «Sovremennik», «Komsomolskaya Street», «Port-Saida Street», «Railway Station».
The city hall assures that during peak hours, the interval will be about 20 minutes, with the first trip from Rodnikovaya Dolina at 05:30 and the last at 21:55. From the station, the first bus will depart at 05:40 and the last at 21:10.
«Existing public transport routes No. 5a »Khimzavod« — »Rodnikovaya Dolina«, No. 85 »Zhilgorodok« — »Rodnikovaya Dolina«, No. 15a »Rodnikovaya Dolina« — »DK Stroitel«» and No. 23a «Rodnikovaya Dolina» — «7th Guards Street» continue to serve this neighborhood as before,« the city hall emphasized.
Meanwhile, it«s worth reminding that residents of »Rodnikovaya Dolina« complain regularly. According to passengers, they have to wait at least half an hour at the terminal stop. It»s practically impossible to get on and grab a free seat. As residents assure, the transport is packed to capacity with people right from the starting point.
Three years ago, the Volgograd administration planned to revive bus No. 5a, launching it from «Rodnikovaya Dolina» to «Children»s Center«, but the result of the transport reform was a radical change in the route and its redirection from north to south — to Khimzavod.
