Ufa Residents: 'No Hope for Better Quality' as Bus Fares Rise

Readers of UFA1.RU spoke out about the increase in fares on route buses, which carriers promised to introduce from February 1. Recall that on one of the routes, the fare will increase to 50 rubles (about $1 at current rates).
«The economy is growing, everything is going according to plan,» noted a visitor to our portal.
«Everything is getting more expensive, but we are living worse and worse,» wrote another.
«We»re surviving,« added a third.
«Transport reform in action,» declared another.
«If there is a need to increase transport fares, then passenger service should change: transport must strictly adhere to schedules, and in-vehicle service for passengers,» believes a Ufa resident.
«This is a trivial increase just to buy diesel at new prices! Don»t dream about quality improvement,« a city resident is sure.
«I ride the 226 bus in the morning — that»s where it«s like sardines in a can. Two stops and the bus is packed, it still stops, trying to open the doors,» complained a site guest.
«If only they»d add extra transport on Komsomolskaya Street, you can«t go anywhere,» lamented a townsman.
«You can»t get on bus number 39, at the Vatutina stop it«s packed,» reported a reader.
Fares are also being increased on Bashavtotrans routes — to 46 rubles (about $1 at current rates). In the republican Ministry of Transport, the fare hike was called «a forced measure due to overall inflation in the country and rising costs».
