Residents of Orenburg now have a new way to pay for public transport rides — through the Yandex Go app. Tickets can be purchased using Bluetooth tags installed in city buses and trolleybuses. They are available in over 300 buses and trolleybuses.
Passengers can pay for a ticket by connecting to the Bluetooth tag. To do this, simply activate Bluetooth on the smartphone, open the «Transport» service in the app, and select the desired bus or trolleybus. According to the developers, the principle is the same as when connecting a phone to wireless headphones or a fitness bracelet.
When the smartphone picks up the tag signal, the user can buy a ticket online. The money will be deducted from the card used for purchases in the superapp. The entire process takes about five seconds. The purchased ticket can be found in the «My Ticket» section and in the order history.
Additionally, the app allows users to plan routes, track public transport movement in real-time, and check schedules. Besides Orenburg, the payment option is available in Yaroslavl, Rybinsk, Veliky Novgorod, Vologda, and Blagoveshchensk, and in the future, it will appear in dozens of other Russian regions.
