Nizhny Novgorod transport inspections reveal 8,300 violations

Employees of the Center for Transport Systems Development checked 560 buses in Nizhny Novgorod and found thousands of violations by drivers and transport companies. The results of the on-site inspections for 2025 have been published on the CRTS social media page.
In total, over the past 12 months, inspectors identified nearly 8,300 violations. As a result, carriers were issued fines of 2.9 million rubles (approximately $29,000 at current rates). However, only 1.8 million rubles (about $18,000) has been collected so far. Fines that companies do not pay voluntarily will be pursued by the department through the courts.
Incidentally, over a thousand violations were found at Nizhny Novgorod«s main carrier, Nizhegorodpassazhiravtotrans. Most of these were related to failure to adhere to route schedules. More details are available here.
Previously, CRTS specialists also appealed to drivers not to obstruct public transport. They noted that trolleybuses and trams are often forced to idle due to residents parking cars illegally and causing accidents on tram tracks.
