Nizhnevartovsk delays traffic closure at Running Deer interchange

The start of work on the major overhaul of the overpass on the «Eastern Bypass of Nizhnevartovsk» road is being postponed for technical reasons. This was reported by the municipal administration.

The date for the start of work and the complete closure of traffic at the «Running Deer» transport interchange will be announced later.

It was previously reported that the work would begin on February 1. The authorities in Nizhnevartovsk began searching for a contractor for the bridge repair on the Eastern Bypass a year ago. The overpass leads from the city to the Samotlor highway beyond the «Running Deer» interchange. The city administration allocated over 205 million rubles (approximately $2.1 million at current rates) for dismantling the old bridge and building a new one.

The repair is expected on a section 64 meters long (approximately 210 feet). The old bridge crossing will be demolished, and in its place, the contractor must erect a new bridge: install overpass supports, mount span structures, and create drainage.

Recently, the authorities in Surgut detailed which new highways will be built in 2026.
