New Yaroslavl bridge construction to proceed in 2026
Dmitry Sergeyev, deputy minister of road management and transport of the Yaroslavl region, spoke about the progress of work on the construction of the third bridge across the Volga in Yaroslavl and plans for 2026. His speech took place on January 20 at a meeting of the regional Duma committee.
According to the official, in 2026, 7.8 billion rubles (about $86.7 million at current rates) are planned to be allocated for the bridge construction. From this amount, 7.7 billion rubles (approximately $85.6 million) will be provided by the federal budget.
Dmitry Sergeyev noted:
«Let me remind you that we have already contracted 4 billion rubles (about $44.4 million), the contractor is working on the site. We plan to start tenders for the remaining stages at the beginning of this year.»
Currently, contract work is being carried out exclusively on the right bank of the Volga in the area of Tormoznoye Highway. As Sergeyev explained, on this section, the assessment of property intended for seizure for interchanges has been completed, and payments to business owners have begun.
The situation on the left bank will be worked out later, after the conclusion of the corresponding contract.
«There are a large number of objects — private residences. But the cost, as far as I remember, is lower there,»added the representative of the transport ministry.
The general contractor for the construction is LLC Transstroymekhanizatsiya (part of JSC Group of Companies National Project Construction). The contract cost of its work is 4 billion 35 million 183 thousand rubles (about $44.8 million). The actual bridge crossing will be built by the Yaroslavl company Mostootryad-6.
Earlier, Governor Mikhail Yevrayev reported that by the end of 2026, as part of the project, it is planned to build a transport interchange on Tormoznoye Highway and an elevated section on the right bank of the Volga.
The symbolic start of construction was given on September 17, 2025, with the installation of a foundation stone on the bank of the Volga. The complete construction of the third bridge across the Volga should be finished by 2029. For the implementation of the project, the entire necessary amount — 32 billion rubles (about $355.6 million) — has been allocated from the federal budget.
