New Tenders Planned for Yaroslavl's Third Volga Bridge

Construction of the third bridge over the Volga in Yaroslavl will continue in 2026. Details of the work on the project were reported on 20 January at a meeting of the Yaroslavl Regional Duma Committee on Urban Planning, Transport, Safety and Road Quality by Dmitry Sergeyev, Deputy Regional Minister of Road Facilities and Transport and Head of the Road Management Department.

He noted that 7.8 billion rubles (about $86.7 million at current rates) will be allocated for the bridge«s construction in 2026, of which 7.7 billion rubles (about $85.6 million at current rates) are federal funds.

Let me remind you, we have already contracted 4 billion rubles (about $44.4 million at current rates), the contractor is working on the site. We plan to start tenders for the remaining stages at the beginning of this year, said Dmitry Sergeyev.

He also spoke about the acquisition of land plots and buildings that are to be demolished to make way for the new bridge«s interchanges.

Under the signed contract, work is currently being carried out only on the right side of the Volga, in the area of Tormoznoye Highway. Work has been done to determine the value of the property subject to seizure. Now all issues have been settled, and payments are being made to the owners of the enterprises for the seized property. As for the left bank, work will be carried out after the contract for the left bank is signed. There are a large number of objects — private houses. But the cost, as far as I remember, is lower there, explained Dmitry Sergeyev.

Recall that earlier the governor of Yaroslavl Region, Mikhail Euraev, said that by the end of 2026, as part of the project«s implementation, they plan to build a transport interchange on Tormoznoye Highway and an elevated section on the right bank of the Volga.

The contractor for the construction is the largest bridge-building company in Russia — Transstroymechanizatsiya LLC (part of National Project Construction Group JSC). It is to be paid 4 billion 35 million 183 thousand rubles (about $44.8 million at current rates) for the work. The bridge section will be built by the Yaroslavl company Mostootryad-6.

On 17 September 2025, a foundation stone was installed on the bank of the Volga on Tormoznoye Highway, marking the start of the project«s implementation.

The bridge is to be fully completed in 2029. The Yaroslavl authorities managed to secure the allocation of the entire required sum for the project from the federal budget — 32 billion rubles (about $355.6 million at current rates).
