Fog closes highway to Saratov in Volgograd region

In the Volgograd region, restrictions have been imposed on the federal highway R-228 Syzran–Saratov–Volgograd. Information about this appeared in the official accounts and on the website of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) for the Volgograd region.

«Due to adverse weather conditions in the Volgograd region (fog, limited visibility of less than 50 meters), as a preventive measure, movement restrictions have been imposed for freight and passenger vehicles until further notice on the following section of the federal highway: in the Gorodishchensky, Dubovsky, and Kamyshinsky districts of the Volgograd region from 22:00 on 29 January 2026, from kilometer 512 to 672 of the federal highway R-228 Syzran–Saratov–Volgograd,» the department said.

Recall that earlier the rescue department warned about adverse weather conditions in the Volgograd region, in effect until 29 January. Later, the storm warning was extended until 1 February.
