Filyovskaya Line Extension to Include Six Right-Angle Turns
The new section of Moscow«s Filyovskaya metro line will have several sharp turns almost at right angles. This is visible on a diagram published for the first time by Moscow authorities. Earlier, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin announced that the blue line will be extended from Kuntsevskaya station to Maysky District and Skolkovo.
After Kuntsevskaya, the tunnels will run under Bagritskogo Street to the residential complexes under construction on Vereyskaya Street. Approximately beneath them, near the Aminyevskoye electric depot, the tunnels will turn towards Ryabinovaya Street. A new turn will be under Skolkovskoye Highway, after which the line will be directed to the territory of the Innovation Center.
In Skolkovo itself, the tunnels will be built under Bolshoy Boulevard and Nikola Tesla Street: thus, the blue line will approach Minskoye Highway, the MCD-1 Skolkovo station, and reach the Healing Gardens park. For the preparation of the line extension project, an area of 517 hectares has been allocated.
The territorial planning project for the extension of the Filyovskaya line has been under development since September 2025. However, the first order from the Moscow Committee for Architecture and Urban Planning (Moscomarchitecture), unlike other documents on metro construction, cannot be found. Probably, the exact route of the new section has appeared in the public domain for the first time.
In August 2025, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin announced that a metro line will be built in Maysky District and Skolkovo. Then he showed a diagram of Moscow metro construction in 2035. It turned out that it refers to the extension of the Filyovskaya (blue) line. The new section is planned to open in 2031. Stations to be built on it include Vereskaya, Belovezhskaya, Skoltech, Skolkovo, and Meditsinsky Tsentr.
