Chelyabinsk Carrier Responds to Traffic Police After Pedestrian Accident

The carrier LLC «Alfa», which serves Chelyabinsk route No. 22 (22a), published an official response to the claims of the regional traffic police. General Director Ruslan Khismatullin stated that since the beginning of 2026, the bus has been involved in a road traffic accident with injuries only once.

This incident occurred on January 18 on Kronshtadtskaya Street. The company«s management provided video footage of the moment the pedestrian was hit. According to Khismatullin, an administrative investigation is currently underway to determine the driver»s guilt.

‘The pedestrian did not ensure the safety of the crossing—did not look at the roadway before starting to cross, was wearing headphones and a hood,’ noted the general director.

At the wheel of the bus at the time of the accident was a 55-year-old citizen of Kyrgyzstan, with 20 years of driving experience in category D.

‘LLC «Alfa» prioritizes road traffic safety,’ assured Ruslan Khismatullin. ‘Most accidents that occur on route 22 (22a) are related to traffic intensity and insufficient road surface cleaning in the winter period. In 90% of accidents, there are no injuries.’

Earlier, the traffic police of Chelyabinsk Oblast initiated a check of the carrier, reporting six accidents since the beginning of 2026 in which people were injured. However, on January 20, the department admitted an error in these data.

According to the clarified information published by the traffic police at 12:15, for 2025 and the beginning of 2026, 37 accidents involving vehicles of LLC «Alfa» were registered, and this refers not only to buses of route No. 22. ‘Of these, 12 accidents involved injuries, in which 19 people suffered injuries of varying severity,’ reported the traffic police.
