Bus driver in Severodvinsk loses license after door traps passenger's leg

A bus driver in Severodvinsk has been deprived of his license for 1.5 years after he trapped a passenger«s leg while pulling away from a stop. The woman, who hadn»t managed to board the bus, fell and suffered several fractures.
The incident occurred on July 2, 2025, opposite building No. 102 on Lomonosov Street. The Severodvinsk City Court reports that the 39-year-old driver is named Nazim Vagabov, and he received his driver«s license in 2004 in the Republic of Dagestan. He had previously been held administratively liable. The Lotos bus was operated by TC »Rico«.
«The driver started moving from the stop without ensuring the maneuver was safe, did not close the bus doors, allowing the fall of a passenger born in 1954, who hadn»t managed to board the bus. The woman fell onto the sidewalk, her leg was trapped in the doors, the victim was hospitalized and underwent surgical treatment,« the court reports.
The driver himself admitted his guilt and told traffic police officers that he drove about one and a half meters before hearing passengers« screams and stopping.
«The elderly resident of Severodvinsk suffered injuries — lacerations, fractures, constituting moderate harm to health, doctors were forced to amputate one of her fingers,» the court adds. «She applied to the court with a claim for compensation for moral damages. The claims will be resolved in civil proceedings, the defendant is the transport company.»
Recently, a passenger attacked the driver of another «Rico» bus — video of the incident was published by the company itself.
Earlier, the Oktyabrsky District Court of Arkhangelsk ordered «Rico» to pay an Arkhangelsk resident 2,000 rubles (approximately $27 at current rates) in compensation for moral damages and a fine of 1,000 rubles (approximately $13 at current rates) for a flight delay.
