A Novosibirsk resident claimed that a bus conductor refused to give her 15 rubles (about $0.17 at current rates) in change. NGS reader Tatiana said that the conflict occurred on the morning of January 21 in a bus. According to her, she gave the conductor 60 rubles (about $0.67 at current rates), but she rudely refused to count out the change.

‘There were no seats. I had a heavy bag, balancing while holding onto the handrail. I have a heart condition, and my coordination is impaired. The conductor approached, I gave her the money, warning that there would be change. The conductor refused me. She returned the money. She didn«t want to count out 15 rubles. She warned that I had to pay her within one stop. All this with shouting and negativity,’ Tatiana stated.

According to the passenger, she offered to pay the fare without change after two stops — when a seat became available. Tatiana tried to find out the conductor«s name, but she refused to give it, the reader claims.

‘So, with 50 and 100 ruble bills, there«s no problem for a person to give change, but here she directly threw a fit. People started to protest. The conductor was in her own world. The girl refused to give her full name, citing that she works unofficially,’ she stated.

According to the Municipal Institution Center for Urban Passenger Transport (MCU TsUGAET), an individual entrepreneur operates on the route. It was not possible to reach the carrier at the time of publication. NGS sent a request to the mayor«s press center to get a comment.

Recall that earlier, a Novosibirsk resident kicked a conductor in the face and attacked a bus passenger.
