Broken barrier causes mass traffic violations at Chelyabinsk mall

Near the Almaz shopping mall in Chelyabinsk, an attempt was made to block access for trucks, but the barrier broke, and drivers, violating all rules, drove onto the parking lot via a pedestrian sidewalk. This was reported on Tuesday, January 20, by a reader of 74.RU.
The incident at the entrance to Almaz from Yeniseyskaya Street occurred the day before, on January 19. A truck knocked down the barrier next to a sign prohibiting passage for vehicles taller than 2.7 meters. Seeing their usual parking entrance blocked, many decided not to look for another way but to \«cut through\» via the pedestrian crossing.
\«There are at least two other entrances, yet drivers are going over the lowered curb at the pedestrian crossing,\» our reader indignantly said.
The Chelyabinsk traffic police explained to 74.RU that the parking lot is managed by Almaz, as the area is the property of the shopping mall, and the installation and removal of the barrier were done without the involvement of the State Traffic Inspectorate.
\«The State Traffic Inspectorate has taken the video recording into account,\» the traffic police commented on the footage of the violators. \«Inspectors will conduct preventive work on this section regarding violations of traffic rules.\»
