On the last day of the KHL (Kontinental Hockey League) transfer period, December 25, Chelyabinsk Traktor announced the addition of three new players to the roster.

The club reached an agreement with Slovak defender Michal Chajkovski, with a contract until the end of the 2025/2026 season. General manager Aleksei Volkov stated: «Traktor needed another defender capable of adding strictness to the defense.»

Chajkovski is a product of Bratislava Slovan. He played in the AHL (American Hockey League) for the Hershey Bears and Charlotte Checkers, as well as in several teams in the European Hockey League.

In Russia, the defender played for Avtomobilist, Moscow Dynamo, Sibir, and Spartak. In autumn 2025, the player moved to Swiss club Ambrì Piotta, but on January 25 he terminated the contract, «expressing a desire to immediately return to Slovakia.»

From Spartak to Traktor, for monetary compensation, goaltender Dmitry Nikolaev transferred. Also, the Chelyabinsk club strengthened the attack by acquiring forward Alexander Kisakov from Moscow Dynamo. The 23-year-old native of Solikamsk, Russia, spent three seasons in the AHL with the Rochester Americans, but in 2025 returned to Dynamo.
