Tractor narrowly avoids shutout in loss to Avangard in Omsk

The KHL match between Avangard and Tractor at the arena in Omsk on Thursday evening, January 29, ended with a score of 1:0 in favor of the home team. Two periods passed without goals, and the match promised to be a shutout, but in the third period, the hosts managed to score a goal against Tractor.
Meanwhile, the game was not without intense moments. In the 19th minute, Tractor forward Andrei Nikonov pushed Avangard forward Nikolai Prokhorkin in the back near the boards.
Defending his teammate, Avangard defenseman Joseph Cecconi fought with Nikonov. As a result, Cecconi received a 5-minute penalty for fighting. The referees penalized Nikonov with a five-minute penalty for fighting and a two-minute penalty for boarding Prokhorkin.
