HC Torpedo (Hockey Club Torpedo) has signed a contract with a new player. He will play for the Nizhny Novgorod team as part of a trade with HC Sochi. This was reported by the press service of the Nizhny Novgorod club.
This refers to 23-year-old forward Danil Avarshin. He signed a contract with our club, and in his place, Torpedo defenseman Ivan Khokhlov will play for Sochi.
Avarshin began his career playing for Dynamo Moscow and Spartak Moscow, including serving as captain of the red-and-whites. The forward represented the Russian national team in various age categories and won the Glinka/Gretzky Cup, a youth hockey tournament. He made his KHL (Kontinental Hockey League) debut at age 18, playing for Spartak and Sochi for several consecutive years.
It is known that a two-way contract was signed with the new player, which will allow him to play for the main Nizhny Novgorod team and for Torpedo-Gorky in the VHL (Supreme Hockey League).
