Spartak Moscow Goaltender Nikolayev Transfers to Traktor Chelyabinsk

26-year-old goaltender of the Moscow hockey club Spartak, Dmitry Nikolayev, has transferred to Chelyabinsk«s Traktor for a monetary compensation. This was reported in a statement by the KHL press service.
«The goaltender position is extremely scarce in the KHL today, and we have finally managed to reach a consensus with Spartak on the transfer of Dmitry Nikolayev. We expect that he will compete with Sergey Mylnikov and strengthen our goaltending line,» said Traktor club general manager Alexey Volkov.
Dmitry Nikolayev joined Spartak in the 2023/24 season and played three more. Before that, he played for St. Petersburg«s SKA and Nizhnekamsk»s Neftekhimik. In total, the goaltender has 84 wins in 151 matches. He is also a Russian junior hockey champion for players under 21.
The athlete signed a contract with Traktor until the end of May 2028. Sport-Express wrote that for the transfer of the player, the Chelyabinsk club will pay Moscow 15 million rubles (approx. $167,000 at current rates).
