In February, Nizhny Novgorod will traditionally host the nationwide mass race «Russian Ski Track». It will take place on the clearing near the Oksky Bereg residential complex on February 14. The regional Ministry of Sports has detailed which races one can participate in.

The competitions annually bring together skiing enthusiasts from all regions of the country. In 2026, they will be held for the 44th time.

For athletes, several types of races have traditionally been prepared: mass races — on 5 and 10 km, corporate — for enterprises, an honorary guests race of 2,026 meters, as well as children«s and family races. Registration for the »Russian Ski Track« is available through »Gosuslugi« (the Russian government services portal) until February 12 inclusive. For the family distance of 500 m, applications will be accepted directly at the venue on the day of the competition. It is necessary to bring a doctor»s permission.

Adults can participate in the races on 10 km, youths and girls under 18 on 5 km, and families with children under 11 on 500 m. The children«s race is designed for kids under 10 years old.

Schedule of the competitions «Russian Ski Track — 2026»:

9:00 — distribution of start numbers for all races, work of the commission for participant admission;

11:10 — children«s race of 500 m;

11:20 — family race of 500 m;

11:30 — official opening of the «Russian Ski Track»;

12:00 — individual race on distances of 10 and 5 km;

12:10 — honorary guests race of 2,026 m;

12:20 — corporate race of 2 km;

13:00 — awarding of winners and prize-winners;

15:00 — end of the event.

It is added that last year, the «Russian Ski Track» in Nizhny Novgorod had to be canceled due to too warm weather. However, in 2024, the competitions took place. How they went was shown in a vivid photo report.
