Russian Cross-Country Skiing Day Set for Saratov on February 14

The Saratov region will join the nationwide cross-country skiing festival. On February 14, the mass race «Lyzhnya Rossii» (Russian Cross-Country Skiing Day) will start in the region, as it will across the country. This year marks its 44th edition.
The main competitions in Saratov will take place at the «Zimniy» (Winter) Stadium. Participants will be able to choose a distance suitable for their ability: from a short 400-meter route for beginners to more serious 3, 5, and 10-kilometer (1.9, 3.1, and 6.2-mile) routes. A 1.2-kilometer (0.75-mile) distance will also be available. For convenience, registration is already open on the «Gosuslugi» (Government Services) portal. However, it will also be possible to register on the day of the event itself.
The «Lyzhnya Rossii» will not only affect the regional capital. Traditional races will also be held in municipalities, with many of them starting even earlier than the main date: on January 31 – Marxovsky and Balakovsky districts; on February 4 – Volsky district; on February 7 – Engelssky and Tatishchevsky districts; on February 14 – Balakovsky, Khvalynsky, and Bazarno-Karabu lakesky districts will hold races on the same day as Saratov.
