Avangard«s head coach Guy Boucher congratulated the team on the victory in the locker room, but it was clear that the team»s play did not please him. He noted a large number of errors at the end of the match.

«We need to play all 60 minutes. In the last 10 minutes, we got a five-minute penalty and a penalty shot.»

At the press conference, Boucher elaborated on the same points.

«I liked the first 50 minutes. We were powerful, we are one of the strongest teams in terms of physicality. We are proud of the hockey we played. If we play a different hockey, it means something is wrong. Today everything was correct. We played great. I didn»t like the last 10 minutes. We were giving gifts to the opponent that we shouldn«t have given. We lost concentration, this is something we need to fix.»

Guy Boucher criticized Nikolai Prokhorkin«s play in the incident with Chezganov.

«The moment with the penalty not only could have been avoided, it needed to be avoided. We don»t need such moments.«

Avangard«s coach praised Nail Yakupov, who scored a double.

«He really was good, I»m happy for him and very pleased. For a long time, he has been showing his best side. When you play for a long time and it doesn«t work out, it can be pressuring. I»m very glad that Yakupov has developed good chemistry on the line with MacLeod and Poturalski.«

In the next home match on January 29, Avangard will face Chelyabinsk Traktor.
