On February 14, a professional boxing evening will take place at the Tractor Ice Arena. Fans are promised a series of bright and spectacular fights, and the central event of the competition, organized by the Russian Copper Company and RCC Boxing Promotions, will be a bout for the World Boxing Association (WBA) interim world champion title.
In the main bout, the current holder of the WBA interim title in the bridgerweight division (up to 101.6 kg / 224 lb) Russian Georgy Yunovidov will face undefeated Armenian boxer Vardan Arutyunyan.
For the 33-year-old Yunovidov, this fight will be the first defense of the title he won after moving to bridgerweight. Changing weight class has been an important step in his career. According to the competition organizers, Georgy shows impressive speed, refined technique, and tireless pace, making him a dangerous opponent for any fighter.
Also on the program are bouts featuring Chelyabinsk boxers Alexey Kiselev and Sergey Egorov. Both athletes represent the local boxing school and regularly compete at the professional level.
«They are students of experienced coaches, having absorbed the best traditions and effective training methods. Their skill, strength, and will to win are the result of years of training and complete dedication,» states the official announcement of the competition.
Particular attention deserves the bout of South Ural native Vildan Minasov against boxer from Uzbekistan Bilol Karimov. The fight will be part of the RCC Boxing Grand Prix – a series of tournaments, following which participants get the opportunity to continue their career in the RCC Boxing Promotions league on a long-term basis.
