St. Petersburg«s SKA announced an addition to its coaching staff. On the club»s official website on January 27, information appeared about the arrival of former defenseman Boris Mironov, whom the team management welcomed and wished success.
The new coach is a product of CSKA (Central Sports Club of the Army). He made his debut for the main army team at age 17 in the 1988/1989 season, and also gained experience with SKA MVO and CSKA-2. In the summer of 1993, Mironov moved to the NHL (National Hockey League), where he first played for the Winnipeg Jets, then for the Edmonton Oilers, Chicago Blackhawks, and New York Rangers. After his debut season, he was named to the league«s All-Rookie Team. Over 11 seasons in the NHL, the player participated in 741 games and scored 323 points (81 goals and 242 assists).

Among his achievements are silver and bronze Olympic medals, titles as World Junior champion, U20 World champion, USSR Champion, and winner of the Spengler Cup.
Mironov began his coaching career in 2015 within the Red Army system. In the 2016/2017 season, he headed CSKA«s farm club, won the Kharlamov Cup, and was named the best coach of the season in the MHL (Minor Hockey League). Later, the specialist worked in the VHL (Supreme Hockey League) and KHL (Kontinental Hockey League): he led Spartak, was part of Neftekhimik»s staff, and in the 2024/2025 season helped Traktor reach the Gagarin Cup Final.
