In Bashkortostan, two schools have been put up for auction — their total cost is just over 100,000 rubles (about $1,100 at current rates). Both buildings are in a deplorable state and have clearly become unnecessary for the districts on whose balance they are held. UFA1.RU provides the details.

The exterior of the former school resembles a typical residential house in the area.

The first lot is a former school in the village of Suyundyukovo in Uchalinsky District, 70 kilometers from the city. The one-story log building was constructed in 1960, but by the time the photos were taken, it was already vacant. The documents indicate that the wear and tear of the main building is 53%, the canteen — 52%, and the second building — 16%.

Some parts of the building are missing windows, indicating its dilapidated state.

The school has five classrooms ranging from 10 to 25 square meters. It also accommodated a teachers« room (28.6 m²), a library (8.2 m²), and a laboratory assistant»s room (3.1 m²). The documents do not specify what exactly is wrong with their condition. The starting price for the school is 70,700 rubles (about $785). Bids are accepted until March 16.

The second lot is a former school in the village of Istamgulovo in the same Uchalinsky District, 30 kilometers from the city.

The educational institution was built in 1978, but it does not look very good either. It has two rooms (apparently classrooms) of about 40 square meters each, a canteen of 11.8 square meters, and a boiler room of 14.6 square meters.

The documents describe the condition of the building: cracks are visible in the log walls, the partitions show peeling plaster, there are gaps in the wooden ceilings, sheets have come off the slate roof, and the plank floors are worn out. The windows and doors are loose. Only the stove heating is in good condition.

The cost of the building is 59,600 rubles (about $660).

It should be recalled that the phenomenon of selling educational institutions is not new. Previously, in Bashkortostan, attempts were made to sell kindergartens in Oktyabrsky, in Kushnarenkovsky District and in the suburbs of Dyurtyuli. No buyers were found.
