Samara's outskirts to become miniature metropolises with golf and horses

Huge residential areas may appear near Samara. The head of the regional Ministry of Construction, Alexander Fomin, spoke about two large-scale investment projects at a meeting on the development of the construction industry.

«The goal of these initiatives is to create self-sufficient neighborhoods where housing, jobs, and infrastructure develop together. These projects will become a growth point for the city, give an economic impulse to the region, and provide a comfortable environment for residents,» said the acting minister.

The first project is called «Samarskoye Zarechye». It includes comprehensive development of a 114-hectare (282-acre) area on Yuzhnoye Highway.

In addition to a residential district in the «Samara-City» format, the project includes a business center with office and commercial space. For leisure and sports, an equestrian club, a golf course, and a track-autodrome following the example of «Igora Drive» (a racing complex at the Igora resort in the Leningrad region — Ed.) will be built. Parks and public spaces are also planned.

Although initially only 114 hectares (282 acres) will be developed, in the future the construction area is planned to be expanded to 270 hectares (667 acres). The Ministry of Construction is already working on the formation of land plots together with the Samara city administration.
«We will definitely not hand all this over to one developer. In this case, the government itself will act as the master developer. But we invite our colleagues from the construction industry to look at this territory comprehensively,» said Alexander Fomin.
The second project is called «Kryazh». It includes comprehensive development of a 160-hectare (395-acre) area near the village of Lopatino in the Volzhsky district.
Here, they plan to build housing of various formats: individual houses and multi-apartment buildings 9–10 stories high. The territory will be provided with roads, schools, kindergartens, and commercial and leisure facilities.
In addition, the village of Petra Dubrava is also set for transformation. A modern residential area will be built there as well.
