Zelensky addresses Ukrainians on Trump's peace plan

The United States has issued an ultimatum to Ukraine with strict conditions for the peace agreement.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky published a video address to the people. In it, he noted that the current moment is the most difficult in the country«s history. According to him, Ukraine may face a very difficult choice in connection with the US development of a peace plan.
“Now Ukraine may face a very difficult choice: either loss of dignity, or the risk of losing a key partner. Either the difficult 28 points, or an extremely harsh winter, the harshest, and further risks,” Zelensky stated in the video, which he published on his Telegram channel.
Zelensky emphasized that Kyiv will continue to persuade the US and other partners of the necessity to respect Ukraine»s national interests.
“I will present arguments, propose alternatives, but certainly we will not give reasons to say that it is Ukraine that does not want peace and is disrupting the diplomatic process. I will fight to ensure that among all the points in the plan, at least two are not omitted: the dignity and freedom of Ukrainians, because on this our sovereignty, independence, land, people, and Ukrainian future are based,” he explained.
As Zelensky noted, the Ukrainian authorities will continue to engage in dialogue with European countries and hope for understanding from their side. The President of Ukraine called on all politicians and citizens of the country to stop “political games.”
Also, Zelensky in his address to the people announced that he will propose alternatives to the sudden plan for resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
“We will calmly work with America and all allies [on the peace plan]. We will conduct a constructive search with our main partner — the United States. I will persuade them, propose alternatives,” he said.
US Ultimatum for Achieving Peace
Note that the US threatened Ukraine to stop weapons supplies and intelligence sharing if a version of the agreement on conflict resolution is not signed by next Thursday, November 27, writes Reuters citing sources.
At the same time, Ukrainian officials noted that the White House is operating in an “aggressive mode,” intending to end the conflict by the end of the year.
“American officials expect that Zelensky will sign the agreement before Thanksgiving, on Thursday next week, to later present the peace deal in Moscow this month and complete the process by early December,” quotes RIA Novosti the publication.
Trump«s Peace Plan
Recall that the plan of US President Donald Trump for resolving the conflict in Ukraine contains 28 points. The document is dedicated to the security and political status of Ukraine, military and territorial agreements, economic, humanitarian, and energy issues.
In particular, the block on security and political status of Ukraine provides for confirmation of its sovereignty, security guarantees from the US with conditions, enshrining the refusal to join NATO in the Constitution, limiting the size of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), and maintaining non-nuclear status. NATO, in turn, confirms that it will not accept the country into the bloc.
According to the plan, Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk are de facto recognized as Russian, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia have a “frozen” status along the line of contact. Part of the territories becomes a demilitarized buffer zone under Russian control. At the same time, the parties commit not to change borders by force.
