World Taekwondo Champion Leaves Volgograd Council for New Post

Ivan Seleznev, a multiple world and European taekwondo champion, has left his post as a deputy of the Volgograd City Duma. However, he does not plan to leave politics yet, but has preferred to keep his immediate plans secret.
In a conversation with a V1.RU correspondent, he explained the reason for his departure.
— I left because I was asked to take on other duties, — Ivan Seleznev told V1.RU vaguely. — As far as I know, the idea came from Andrey Ivanovich. This will be a «promotion». I am very grateful for the recognition. I am familiar with the field I will be working in, so I already have ideas and ready-made developments that we will start implementing in the near future.
In addition to his career as a City Council deputy and sports titles, Ivan Seleznev notes that he is a candidate of pedagogical sciences, graduated from a physical education academy and was a school director for 16 years. The former deputy hopes that all the experience he has gained will help him in his new position.
Meanwhile, an anonymous Telegram channel called «General»s Cat« has already speculated about the exact position Ivan Seleznev might take. The message published on the Telegram channel mentions the position of deputy in the Volgograd Region sports committee.
Recall that last year, State Duma deputy from the Volgograd region Oleg Savchenko prematurely resigned his powers. Later, Oleg Savchenko told a V1.RU correspondent that he was instructed to work on a project to expand the transport corridor from Africa to the Middle East and no longer had time for full-time work in the State Duma.
