'Vague doubts' over AI-generated Youth Parliament speech about Akademgorodok

A deputy of the Legislative Assembly accused a member of the Novosibirsk Youth Parliament of delivering a speech with a text created by artificial intelligence.

Today, January 29, the chair of the Youth Parliament, Alina Evseicheva, delivered a report on the work done at a session of the Legislative Assembly. After that, deputy Vladimir Vorozhtsov asked her a question. He recalled that a little over a month ago, an event was held dedicated to the anniversary of Academician Lavrentyev. A representative of the Youth Parliament spoke at it.

«Around the third phrase, I was plagued by some vague doubts that his text was generated by artificial intelligence. But it was very reminiscent—in structure and so on. And since Gigachat is Russian, but the essence often slips into Anglo-Saxon, one of the elements didn»t take long to appear,« the deputy explained.

As the deputy clarified, the parliament representative at some point talked about young scientists of the Siberian Akademgorodok (Academic Town). The parliamentarian«s speech included words that they sit in small Novosibirsk apartments and dream of the Nobel Prize.

The deputy noted that in Akademgorodok, the apartments are better than in many world-class buildings.

«And why do they dream of the Nobel Prize? Lavrentyev dreamed of ensuring the defense security of the state, of creating Akademgorodok. There are people in the world who dream of the Nobel Prize. We even know one in the White House,» the deputy pondered.

This week it became known that a deputy of the Berdsk City Council will be tried for beating another parliamentarian. The 44-year-old politician is accused of causing minor harm to health.
