On January 28, US President Donald Trump warned Iran of a possible military operation that would be larger than previous strikes on nuclear facilities.

He reported that a «huge armada» of warships led by the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln is moving towards Iranian shores.

Trump wrote on Truth Social: «This is a larger fleet, led by the great aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, than the one sent to Venezuela.»

The head of state emphasized that the US Navy is ready, willing, and able to quickly carry out its mission, including with the use of force.

At the same time, he expressed hope that Tehran will agree to negotiations and conclude a «fair and equal deal without nuclear weapons.»

«Time is running out, this is truly critical!» stated Trump.

Recall that on June 22, 2025, the US conducted Operation «Midnight Hammer,» striking three Iranian nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.

American authorities then explained that they are not fighting Tehran, but its nuclear program.

In December 2025, mass protests began in Iran due to the deteriorating economic situation.

Iranian authorities blamed the unrest on the US and Israel.

Trump warned that he might intervene if Iran continues to suppress protesters.
