Journalist Alexei Kruchinin Appointed Deputy Governor of Sakhalin Oblast

Journalist from Primorye Alexei Kruchinin has been appointed deputy governor of Sakhalin Oblast for information policy. Regional head Valery Limarenko explained in his Telegram channel Limarenko Brief that the new personnel decision is linked to the transition of the previous deputy governor Sergei Grebenyuk to the apparatus of the governor and government of Sakhalin Oblast.
«The post of deputy governor for information policy will soon be taken by Alexei Kruchinin. Alexei Olegovich worked at Channel One, repeatedly traveled to the special military operation zone, was awarded the Medal of the Order «For Services to the Fatherland» 1st Class, and received thanks from the president and government of the Russian Federation. I expect that he will quickly get involved in the work and strengthen our team», — wrote Limarenko on January 28.
Sergei Grebenyuk worked in the post of deputy governor for almost 7 years — since 2019. On January 29, he handed over the position of vice-governor of the region to Alexei Kruchinin and began his duties in the sphere of state information policy and implementation of special projects.
Alexei Kruchinin is one of the leading journalists of Primorye. He was born in Vladivostok on January 30, 1985, and graduated from the journalism faculty of Far Eastern State University. Kruchinin worked at local television channels and was the own correspondent of Channel One in Vladivostok. Since 2015, he headed the bureau of Channel One in Belarus.
In 2020, he found himself at the center of a high-profile conflict: the authorities of Belarus deprived him of accreditation and expelled him from the country after a report on the situation with coronavirus infection. Later, the journalist continued his work in Moscow, acting as a special correspondent for the directorate of information programs of Channel One.
