Fines in Altai Krai may increase up to 70,000 rubles

The maximum penalty for some fines will be 50,000 to 70,000 rubles (approximately $556 to $778 at current rates).
On January 29, authorities in Altai Krai discussed tightening fines, according to the press service of the Altai Krai Legislative Assembly (AKZS).
Thus, in the first reading, a law was considered to increase fines for unauthorized trading from mobile points—such as vehicles, for example. For a first offense, the fine will be raised to 2,000–5,000 rubles (approximately $22–$56 at current rates), and for a repeat offense—to 5,000–10,000 rubles (approximately $56–$111 at current rates).
«The right to a warning will be preserved. The law does not apply to the sale of surplus harvest by pensioners and summer residents, for whom special trading spots have been created in cities,» emphasized officials.
Those who repeatedly violate quiet hours will also pay more—up to 70,000 rubles (approximately $778 at current rates).
Moreover, the AKZS discussed toughening penalties for illegal inscriptions and advertisements on building facades. After the law is adopted, violators could be required to pay up to 50,000 rubles (approximately $556 at current rates).
In addition, the region will start penalizing for overflowing trash bins or their absence near public buildings. The fine will range from 500 to 50,000 rubles (approximately $6 to $556 at current rates).
