Yakutia bans migrant work in taxis, trade for 2026

The authorities of Yakutia have compiled a list of areas where foreigners cannot work in the republic in 2026. The decree by the head of the republic, Aisen Nikolaev, was published on the official legal information portal.
Employers are recommended to adjust the number of foreign workers by February 1. The ban also applies to those foreigners who have obtained a patent.
The list is extensive; they are prohibited from working in the following areas:
livestock farming;
hunting of wild animals and fishing;
forestry and logging;
production of food products, beverages, tobacco products, textiles, clothing, leather goods;
furniture production;
development of construction projects, dismantling and demolition of buildings;
retail trade, except for the sale of cars and motorcycles;
taxis, including freight taxis;
warehousing and auxiliary transport activities;
postal and courier services;
activities providing temporary accommodation and food and beverage services;
real estate operations;
activities in accounting, head offices, consulting;
fields of architecture, engineering design, and technical testing;
scientific research and development, professional scientific activities;
advertising activities;
education, healthcare;
running a private household with hired workers.
